Special Needs Children and Special Education
It covers the information that all the departments of our universities can benefit from their education and training, especially the teacher candidates who are continuing on their teaching programs can easily solve the problems they encounter frequently in practice.
The book consists of four main sections. In the first chapter; general characteristics of special education, history of special education, individual education programs (BEP), integration and family education.
Second part; reasons for special education needs, prevalence rates, developmental characteristics, classification, treatment, rehabilitation and education processes, recommendations to family and teachers.
In the third chapter, there are sections on art, sports, drama and cultural studies which facilitate the participation of the special needs individuals in social life.
In the fourth chapter, studies conducted in the world countries, special education studies in Turkey, problems and solution proposals, life centers for the disabled and new approaches in special education are explained.
